In total the Committee have applied for over £15,000.00 in Grant Funding to help with some of the improvement projects and have been successful in receiving over £12,000.00 in awards, this has helped pay for the new staging and 75% of the cost of new windows.
The electrical upgrade and posterboard was financed from reserve funds. In addition the Committee have raised over £12,000.00 since October 2005 towards the refurbishment of the Town Hall through a series of Fund raising Events.
In the last year alone a whole series of new and traditional events have been organized by the Committee to help with fundraising, these have included;
- Friday Night Music Club
- Raffles
- Quizzes
- Whist Drives
- Table Top Sale
- Craft Fayre
- Farmers Market
We plan to hold many more events, but we do need your support if these are to be successful fund raising events and not a drain on hall funds.
If the hall becomes a Registered Charity then all of the
future projects outlined above can be Grant Funded with, in most cases, little or no contribution from hall funds.
When these projects are completed the village will have a modern, safe, flexible and comfortable hall which can be used by the whole community.
A wide variety of new events can be staged with very little set up time and could bring new life to the village.
All types of music, theatre and drama, big screen cinema, video production, business presentations, fashion shows, craft demonstrations, workshops and many more.
As villagers you have to make a decision on whether you want a Town Hall in the village or whether you don't. We need you to support as many events as you can if the hall is to survive, continue to raise the necessary funds and continue to be the social hub of the village Next ⇒
During August 2006 the hall underwent a full electrical test and upgrade to meet current Health and Safety, license and insurance requirements. The upgrade included; new emergency lighting, interior work lights, new switch gear, additional stage and hall sockets and new distribution boards. The hall now has a 5 year electrical safety certificate.
The Farmers Market which started in February 2007 has proven to be such a success, it will now take place monthly on the second Saturday of each month until further notice
This is advertised on the new poster boards as well as in many local shops around the region.Look out for the posters
